  • Interesting that there are two Studebakers in the picture. I wonder if the percentage on the road was higher at that time.

      • I think it needs a new top (but I'd take it anyway).

That's 4.3 percent for Studebaker? I don't know how that compares to the later years, but in any case the odds are against us.

          • Yes, 4,3% of market share for the year 1952. I will have a look at later years but I'm afraid the figures will be much worse, except maybe for the 1959-61 period.

No, I don't. Not on my screen anyway. In the line with all the VWs, the Buick and Cadillac look out of place.

EDIT: AhHaa! Is that a wagon over on the far left?

                • You got it Gary. It has a horizontal stainless trim extending to the back of the vehicle. I don't know if that makes it a 54 or 55.

Here's another from the same source.

With a quick look, I see a Gran Turismo Hawk.
I also see Ramblers, Corvair, Chevy II/Nova, etc. that look a little like a Lark.
Is this the same parking lot as the previous picture? Besides a high number of VWs, there appears to be the same Buick and Cadillac that I commented on in the previous picture. I wonder what part of the country this was.

                      • It is in the North part of San Diego, looks like the parking lot for Sea World.

No more Studes. but, I see a Rare one in this Pic, I think a Dark Blue Willys Aero Ace in the Right Front, with the Corvair L/F Door against it.

                            • Good eye -- but it might not be an Ace model. They also had an Aero LARK model. I had a 54 Aero Lark -- had a one-piece rear window, hidden trunk lid hinges, and somewhat larger tail lamps.

                              • I believe the black car next to the Corvair is a Vauxhall Victor.
