I would love to have seen that in operation!

Note that Pigeon Hole Parking is actually the name of the establishment; it's on the vertical sign right in the middle of the photos! BP

                • There is a high-rise condominium complex in Hong Kong that uses the same idea where one can have their car in their unit, regardless how many floors up they are: https://www.cnn.com/style/article/si...age/index.html

You are right on (body lean). Many years ago I drove a '60 Olds 88. Even back then I couldn't believe the lean in a corner. My '39 Plymouth was better than that.

There must be a lift mechanism between the two rows of parked cars. I have seen a lot of stacked parking in cities, but not that worked like this one.

                          • Here's a couple more shots of the Pigeon Hole garage; one showing the mechanism for parking cars, and the other showing the neon sign. That sign must've been pretty cool to see at night, as the car "moved" up and parked...in neon!

                            • A "domesticated" version would be great for the serious car collector!

I owned a 1951 Mercury coupe like the one pictured on the lift. It has the correct 1951 fender skirts. They are much better looking than the skirts that are correct for 1949-1950. I, and many others, used 1951 skirts on our 1949s (and 1950s).
