Geez, I remember when Hollywood looked like this. Wallich's was a favorite when I was a kid.

Proof Studebaker was ahead of its time. The Land Cruiser in that photo is a 1952!!

Yes, "The Lawless" came out in 1950. But "Strange Fascination" came out in 1952. So a film noir twin-bill, but apparently a re-play of The Lawless. Interesting that it gets top billing.

I grew up in Broomall, PA, two blocks off the West Chester Pike (PA Route 3). On any given Saturday morning in the early to mid 50’s my mom would give each of us 50 cents and send us off to catch the trolley that used to run down the middle of the Pike to the 69th Street terminal. That’s where the Philadelphia subway / elevated ended and the suburban Red Arrow busses and trolley lines started. I assume that the terminal is still in the same place.

Anyway, we would see a kids’ double feature at the terminal theater (at extreme right in the photo) and then take the trolley home. My older sister was 10 or 11 (and in charge) and I was 8 or 9. It seemed normal to us. Today Mom would probably be charged with child endangerment.
