Studes in Roadside Americana photos

Laying down a challenge here to someone with more time and a better ability than me to identify pre-war Studebaker cars and trucks.

Between 1939-1941 New York City attempted to photograph every building in the 5 boroughs. The link below takes you to a site with a map and all the pictures. Zoom in, click on a black dot, and you'll get a picture of the building. They are all street scenes with many cars and trucks visible. Find some Studebakers and post them here!

I think I found one: Alymra Studebaker at 1800 Coney Island Avenue, Brooklyn. I cheated and got the address from Bob' Studebaker Resource then searched for it in the link I posted above. I'll apologize now for how much time this is going to suck out of some of you!

People have asked me how I got interested in Studebakers. I think I was about 11 or 12, say 1955-56, and I saw a 1953 Studebaker hardtop parked at the curb beside my house. When you see how all the other cars looked, how could you not fall in love with the 1953 Studebaker? It was 1962 when I finally bought one. Loved that car!

. Parking lot photos are always interesting. This one is MIT, grabbed off Facebook. Got to be a Studebaker in there somewhere! (Actually, I did see at least one)

That Caddy in the bottom looks to have an awfully loooong hood compared to the 2-tone just above it. Is it just the difference in year or did Caddy use the hood area stretch their “senior” series cars?

The two tone is a newer than -53 & the one at the bottom is a late 40's, I think that explains a lot.

This shot reminds me of the 1950 Studebaker ad slogan : now 4 to see instead of 3! (In the low price field).

Don’t know where it’s at, or even if it is that vintage. But the Studebaker is there. Interesting that there are chrome around all the windows.
