No worries - have a number that are old Kodachrome ones as well - maybe 300 or so more - plus still find more on occasion.

  • So is the Stude the pace cow?

They will usually follow a feed truck as fast as then can run - so the truck does set the pace . . .

I think that grille guard would push cows aside without damage!

Looks like someone decided to accessorize this truck with a headache bar and spare tire holder.

My grandfather had a 2R back in the day. This was a time period where farmers took cattle to the sale in the back of a pickup with sideboards installed - my grandfather was the same. My oldest Uncle went with my grandfather one time and they had a flat on the truck. My Uncle crawled under the truck to get the spare out - the same time the cow in the bed decided it was time to go to the bathroom. My grandfather made my Uncle continue with him to the sale but he sat outside in the truck rather than answer question about the mess. Needless to say, a spare time never went under a truck he owned from that point forward.

              Kash and Karry, pretty kool!

          • No photograph, but there is a good view of a Studebaker wagon on Gunsmoke, S7, E3, Miss Kitty. The wagon is about 6 minutes from the end. If I can find a way to take a screenshot (or something) I'll post it.

            • This one is pretty interesting. It was taken by GMC in 1953. They went out and got all of the 1953 models to compare to theirs.

I think Studebaker was the only truck in that line up that did not have big external running boards. You could have gotten one of these for your 2R5 if you really wanted.

I always thought the ‘53 Ford grille was a variation of the ‘52 Studebaker car grille. Interesting photo; all the trucks look a little tall and gangly!

Except the 2R. It's easily the prettiest truck in that lineup, with the GMC second.

I guess they were getting ready to show what the new OHV V8 could do.
