This picture was on a thread about the Chester, South Carolina drag strip on the H.A.M.B. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/s...d.php?t=753799. It opened in 1957, but sadly has long been inactive. Many big names in drag racing during that period from all across the country raced there. It was located at a local airport that had been one of the many triangular air bases built during WWII. The Studebaker connection in this picture is the Jeep. It was powered by a Studebaker V8 and raced at Chester.
