Were there ever any fog lights that were bolted on bumpers for the hawk series? Rummaging around the shop and I found a box with a set in it, they mount right up to my bumper. Seems to fit well. Will post pictures soon (hopefully). Maybe someone out there has a set and has pictures. Would like to see them.

    Hello

Yes, there were fog lights to mount on the bumpers of Hawks such as 1958 Golden Hawks, Speedster etc. I just sold a pair on Ebay. See pictures. They are getting hard to find.

They were produced by Hall Lamp.

Those look exactly like the ones I've got... Question though, would they have been an option on a '56 Power Hawk?

To: james.seagle,----- I really do not believe those lights were factory options after the '55 models were produced. But since the same bumper was used through '64, (Hawks), and they fit perfectly and look
really nice on those models, (in my opinion), if You have a set why not use them?

If they are 12 Volt they will work on your Hawk and look nice. Until 1955 fog lights with 6 Volts were used, they were also slightly different in shape because of different bumpers.

They look like 1955 fog lights that would have six volt bulbs. Did you replace the bulbs with 12 volt units? It appears that the orientation of the bulb(s) is off kilter.

I'm not sure if they're 6 volt or 12 volt, and it is the lenses that are off (I assume that you meant lense instead of bulb) because they're not secured to the housing. It was a quick bolt on job, I've already removed them and put them back up...

( What I'm saying is: the '55 Studebaker front bumpers were the only ones to have that extra 'inner' hole )
This is interesting... Wonder if I have a '56 Bumper in the rafters of the shop... If not, anyone willing to trade my bumper for your '56 bumper?

That would make sense... That's what I removed to put the lights on...

No, I did mean bulbs. Those 1955 fog lights used sealed beam bulbs, not lenses with bulbs behind them. You have to change the whole sealed beam unit to go from six volts to 12 volts.

That's how I mounted the fog lights on my '53 (though they and the '53- '54 bumpers are different from the '55s) and I like them even though I dislike cluttering the beautiful Starliner style.
