Yes indeed. He seldom drove it and seemed uninterested in hanging with us. We had about 12 Studebakers at that time and worked on them constantly. We thought he would be interested in coming over and making friends. But, we seldom saw him. He had a son who was just as anti-social. Too bad. We would have been more than happy to help him keep his Studebaker in top shape.

I’m not smart enough to post the link, but I Googled “CP.’S AUTO & MARINE SPECIAL” & think it’s probably their founder Mr. Gale Banks?

…and it appears he drove that car 189 mph at El Mirage in 1960. That WOULD account for his big smile.😉
