Could you be talking about the '57 Scotsman Black 2 Door Wagon in Post #1190? It is a stripped down Champion Six.
In the last 2 Pages of posts that is the only Black wagon I see. The Pic is a Studebaker Corp. Photo for Factory issue Brochures and advertising.

      • #1231 Looks like Mt. Hood, Oregon. They have nearly year-round skiing! (The local search and rescue teams get a good workout there also, unfortunately.)

Yes, it does look like Timberline on Mt. Hood, not for sure but pretty likely. My grandfather (who worked for the Forest Service) was there when it opened (1937?).

You would have to know your pre WWII cars pretty well to recognize this rare '36 Dictator coupe.

c.1910 EMF roadster. I'm vying for the oldest Studebaker street scene photo.

                    • Are you sure #1243 is not a front yard/barn yard scene?

As a fan of pre-WWI/brass era cars, I think it's great to see how these cars looked in period covered in mud, worn tires and various owner modifications to make them more useable.
Compare those with the polished cars we see today in museums and shows.

But don't get me wrong, I'm not one of those guys who take it to extremee to keep it original (retaining rats nest interiors, not fixing dents, making a point of not polishing brass) those guys take a good idea of reservation too far.

This one looks very California, and this is a racer, note the racing Slicks, and '56 Sky Hawk Check mark moulding removed ditto the Parking Lights, bare Black Wheels, and it looks like maybe Exhaust Cutouts, yeah...a racer!
