      • Two old swedish customs.

The one with the kid is in a very bad state since many years now:

        • This one I found googeling, it was on a short visit on the 2017 international meeting last summer (I just missed it) & the thing is that it's got the old/before 1973 license plates so it's not possible to track it...

Now I'll have a break since I don't have more pix!

          • Thanks, Nox; a nice selection.

            Two questions:

            1. Those all appear to have left hand drive. Do Swedes drive on the right side of the road, as in the United States?

            2. The photo in 10067 appears to have a two-piece windshield on a Starlight coupe. That would be unusual, or is it just an optical illusion?

            • Although nearly all of its vehicles were left-hand drive, Sweden drove on the left until March 1967, when it switched to driving on the right.

Bob...I don't have a response to your first question, but I enlarged the second pic and I believe there's some kind of reflection thing going on with the position of the car, sun, and light reflection. My Business coupe has a two-piece windshield, but this car has a dash-mounted rearview mirror, and I see no substantial divider like the ones on the two-piece windshield. However, on the second pic there is some kind of tube looking device attached to the car between the door post and rear glass? I'm wondering what that is?

It looks like a well-optioned car with the rather rare factory turn signals in the front side grille bars. Great period photo.

                • #10067...the device mount on the side of the roof just aft of the door......a European trafficator maybe?

                  • I aint got a clue about what a traficator is but I'm pretty certain it's a "semafore" as in turning-signal, many foreign cars didn't have indicators as standard so when imported these were installed.

& I doubt the -48 has split windscreen.

The custom with the kid was a big thing in the 70's, well known car now rotten & forgotten...

& yep, we had left-hand driven cars allready then, I remember my mun sitting telling dad when it was clear.
& before -67 it was free speed on highways & other big roads, my dad (born 1919) never could get used to that...

                        • From today's Hemmings daily.

In the lane closest to us, the lane with the '53 Plymouth in front, is that a 1955(?) Studebaker station wagon?

                          • That's an old Seattle photo. If you are asking about the 5th car back from the Plym, it looks like an Ultra Vista sedan to me. Also, the lead car going in the opposite direction might be a '47-'49 Stude coupe?
Newest car I see in this photo is a '60 Ford I think.

I see a 1958 Chrysler and a 1957 Ford, but not "your" 1960 Ford (where?).

First white/light color car seen over the hood of the grocery panel truck. The crisp fender line makes me say '60 Ford.
