        • At 9:52 - a 58 Packard hardtop - a rare sight!

              • That Land Cruiser would have been some ride back then. Nice neighborhood too. It looks like someone else has a Studebaker.

                1952 Commander 2 door. Really fine 259.

I love this picture. I know I should know by now what year these two cars are, but I still get confused on the differences between the late 1940's Studebakers. What year are these two?

Bumper guards on both look 1947 to me, and the front hood badge on one is definitely '47. But...in this pic, what really has me curious...what are the things on the right of the gas pumps? In addition to selling Studebaker and gas, are these folks in the household Furnace business??? Are these home heating units with duct work? On my laptop, I can't get a good enough resolution to determine what they are.

                        • 9700 --- The Champion facing the camera is a 1947. A 1948 Champion has one horizontal bar across the same grille, and a 1949 Champion has two horizontal bars. The car on the left, facing the garage, is a 1947 Commander (the three chrome strips over the tail lights = Commander; the bumperette style = 1947) . The Commander has a 1948 Québec license plate, as that was the only year around then to have a white license plate.

I enlarged it, but I have no idea.
