    • # 8236 - Well, the Studebaker is the only vehicle without it's hood up. Love it.

              • Hey Studedude (Dave Lester), thanks for putting my family pics over here. ( Post 8231 ) I was going to right after I posted them on F-Book, but got sidetracked and then forgot, ha ! Lots of good memories with those 4 pics. The grey one with my Mom was my parents very 1st car. I was 5 when they got it in late 52.

Glad you don't mind me posting them here... I thought they were too cool not to share, and wasn't sure if you were a member here or not. Thank you for sharing them!

Cool beans, John. Do you have any idea what is going on in that middle picture, the one with the '56 Oldsmobile hardtop next to the Studebaker? BP

Bob, unfortunately, I have a real good idea. That is my Mom and us kids in our little light blue Champion right after she let Daddy out to help with "race riot" control in 56 in Clinton, TN. He was deputized and was a volunteer Auxillary Policeman at the same time. Very scary times. There was lots of film shot during the 56 to 58 period there, guns and tanks in the streets stopping anyone who didn't need into town, etc. The riot "leader" ( a jerk from outside the state) and some of his cronies actually dynamited our high school later. ( Life Magazine covered a lot of the rioting )Yep, bad times because of some very bad people. Daddy was in the papers, magazines, and TV coverage more than once, as was many of our good officers, but this pic of our car is the only one I have ever seen. We were terrified, and most likely had been told to "stay down". That is my little straw hat in the back shelf I think.
