That's a 23 window bus!! It is rarer and worth MORE than the later 21 window version!

Some of the modifications for the run include fitment of a bonnet retaining strap, extra spare wheels and recovery gear on the running boards. The headlamps have also been removed, though it is not clear whether this was deliberate or because of damage sustained during the trip. The Big Six Speedster was fully imported from the USA and was powered by a 354 cid. inline six developing a maximum of 65 bhp at only 2000 rpm. The photograph was taken outside the Brisbane branch of Canada Cycle and Motor Agency, who were Queensland agents for Studebaker and Gray cars at the time.
Nice to see a posting of Australian Studebaker history make it in these pages. Many years later in 1960 Canada Cycle & Motor Co here in Melbourne had a successful contract with Studebaker to assemble Studebakers for the Australian market from boxed CKD kits totalling over 6000 units of various models of the time.

              • #8015 --- I believe that it is not a crane in the background, instead there are 2 fire trucks, one being a ladder truck. The car has a 1952 New Hampshire plate.

                • What is that tiny red car in the upper portion just to the left of center in the red box?

Could it be a Crosley pickup?

Perhaps an MG Midget with a removable hardtop. I'm comparing the size of it with the Triumph TR3 parked on the otherside of the white '63 Ford separating the two.

Could be an MG backed into the parking space.

                          Correct.

I should have stated backed in, like a few other cars are in that same row.

Not sure that's a TR3 Craig. Doesn't look to be enough cut out (downward sweep) in the door for a TR2/TR3........at least to me.
