That's an unusual car, Stunt. It is the cheapest body style in the special 1961 Flamingo color. Flamingo wasn't available on other than convertibles and Hawks until mid-year, when it was released for any body style. Further, it has four headlamps, as opposed to the much more common two headlamps on "F" bodies, such as that one.

    Good find. BP

      Indeed, Bob.

Not sure where this one was being auctioned, but if close, it could have been the same car: http://forum.studebakerdriversclub.c...light=FLAMINGO

                            • This is the only other picture I have of the Hawk you saw earlier doing a burn out. This is the day I brought it home. Immediately started taking it apart. Took the whole car apart and put it back together with a lot of it rebuilt even though it had very low miles. I noticed that the car had factory dual outside mirrors and I don't recall seeing that on other cars but I might not have paid attention to that detail. I am currently re-creating that car as my cancer rehab project. Best therapy you can ask for.

Just noticed that my dad's 1957 Golden Hawk is in the background. That car was bought for my dad by Andy Granatelli. He put 300,000 miles on it before it went away to I know not where.
