Oh, for the days when the newspaper could report the make of car...
Today, the report would read:
...Mundy took a sizeable slice of the prize money in a primarily red generic car having 27 graphics. Marshall Teague of Daytona Beach was second in a primarily blue generic car having 23 graphics, and Buck Baker of Charlotte was third in a primarily yellow generic car sporting a record-number 28 graphics....

Well Ed, I just thought about one thing: Dutch plates were dark blue & the Studebaker's plate sure looks black to me.
But it could be from Finland or maby Poland or some other east European country.
But you're right about the background: it sure looks a bit Dutch, even thou there's a lot of flat places in the world, even in smaller areas.
