Yes, Google says that address exists, but it looks like it has all been rehabbed.Last edited by StudeRich; 12-31-2011, 09:11 PM.StudeRich

Anyone else think it strange (not even a little bit) that a Studebaker dealer would sell UK Fords?
I always thought Ford dealers sold them.63 Avanti R1 2788

JBOYLE, the Studebaker dealers in Knoxville, Tn. that my dad worked at handled MANY different foreign brands. Mercedes of course, since they were tied in on importing, English Fords, Jags, Porshe, VW, Hillman, and there were others in during different times. It was pretty exciting time when I got to go to work with him. He worked at 3 different dealers there- -or at least 3 different buildings, two of them were Spyers (spelling?) and Snyders, can't remember the other dealer name. The one he was at the longest on the corner of Henley St. even sold boats ! When the 1st Avanti came in, I got to go in with him and watch them unload it. That was when they had a couple of fairly large boats there too. One of them didn't have a prop- - -early jet boat ?? I don't know, but it was in the showroom till the Avanti moved in. Yep, exciting times, so not strange in Knoxville, anyway, ha ! John

Was the English Ford also called the Anglia or was it the Cortina....or were both of those English Ford models?
Warren do you remember my Dads early Anglia coupe with the 327 sbc and NO firewall? Or how about Jim Hansens Lotus Cortina that my dad painted that creamy yellow color with a British Racing Green side insert...man that was a cool car.

Yes, both were English Ford models.
The one in the photo looks to be a 100E, current from 1953 to 1959
The Angila of the early 60s was featured a few years back in one of the Harry Potter films. It was the 105E and produced from 1959 to 1968. It had a reverse swept C pillar and rear window, looking rather like a "Breezeway" Mercury.
There was an earlier generation Anglia that looked very 1930-ish (although they were newer than that) and many were used as "gasser" drag racers here If you ask guys who were around in the 50s-60s what an Anglia is, they'll think of that generation. That model was made from 1939 to 1953.
The Cortina was the standard family sedan in the 60s and 70s, a bit smaller than our Maverick.Last edited by JBOYLE; 01-01-2012, 09:08 PM.63 Avanti R1 2788

I was reading something this afternoon and saw a mention of a town by that name in Wisconsin...
In fact, when you left Brownsburg here last summer, I assume you headed west on I-74 toward Illinois. About 30 miles west of Brownsburg, you went over U.S.231, the exit for Crawfordsville. At that point, you were maybe eight miles south of New Richmond, Indiana...but not the one in Post #139.
New Richmond, Indiana, though small, is now on the Indiana map big-time:
When the famous high school sports movie Hoosiers was filmed in Indiana in 1984 and 1985, the little town of New Richmond over by Crawfordsville was commandeered and "dressed" to become the fictional town of Hickory, from whence played The Hickory Huskers basketball team.
The town street scenes were filmed in New Richmond, although the basketball gymnasium [Knightstown] and school building [Nineveh] were filmed in those other locations around Indiana. BP
