      • Bob, you're tearing me up! Much as I like Studebakers, I love 1960 Sunliners and that black one in 1546 is stunning...to be followed by a totally-50s Raven Black & Sunset Coral (pink) 1956 Sunliner in 1550! Be still, my heart!

The Wagonaire-based ambulance in 1547 is a curiosity from several standpoints: Not only does it say Cruiser on the front fender, but it has Cruiser-style side moldings...and how odd that they did not retain the OEM Studebaker rear bumper.

Can anyone determine the center of everyone's attention at the new car show in 1549? It sure isn't the Scotsman wagon!

        Good selection. Thanks. BP

            • Seeing the Ambulance in #1547 I thought "Ford Corsair tail-lights, where did they get those in the states?"
But as it being an ausie car then I reckon it explains it & the steering-wheel's position.

              • There is a pretty good article at the following link about the Studebaker-Mercedes relationship. I got the above pics from this site.

I have this buddy, who will remain nameless,....well, I'll call him Bart Simpson. Bart wants a Mercedes-Benz 300SL Roadster in the worst way...

                • Those photos in 1547 are certainly sentimental to me now as I purchased that Ambulance direct from the East Gippsland Ambulance Service around 1974 & had it registered with a signed agreement not to operate the siren or roof light. I certainly had a lot of fun with it & I recall its had at least 4 owners since I sold it back in the late seventies.

Probably loaded down with goodies from the "departmental store" on its left!
