As with most thing people can make these systems as simple or as complicated as they wish. My part in this, for myself mainly, is to establish a functional and comparable data base of what currently available PCV vale/s will interchange in both look and specification. Apart from that my systems of late have had the valve cover sealed to atmosphere, well as much as the gaskets, seals and attachments will allow, and have the caps plumbed to the air filter housing, inboard side. This way pressure venting form the caps will be helped and drawn into the carb. This way I have tried to accomplish a recovery system covering as many aspects with minimal effort. An simple oil recovery system can be put in later if needed. Also, if later it is noticed that there is too much oil entering via either route I will either modify or eliminate it. The best, in this area, I can do for the engine is to remove moisture and if I can also recover the VOC laden mix and put it into the combustion mix with little to no detriment to performance I have also helped in the quality of the air I love to breath.
