  • Body / Glass: Front Fender Bolts

    1957 G H. Cumming,GA. "Rather fix than switch"
Hello, I'm trying to find a source for the bolts and nuts used on and around the front fenders, air dams, etc, p/n 1957X3 for 5/8" bolts and 1957X3 for the speed nuts.
If I'm looking at this right I need about 40 of these 5/16" X 10 X 5/8" (different lengths from 1/2 to 7/8") I can't them anywhere, I hope i'm right about their being 10 threads per inch.. Any help or idea's greatly appreciated.
Also, If a car being judged had incorrect bolts would that mean points off? Let's see now,,40 wrong bolts at 1 point each,, that could add up..
    Thanks, Ken

Back in the 90's I visited what was then Newman-Altman where I was surprised with the bins of bolts & fasteners they had there. That inventory is now at Studebaker International. Give then a call. Hopefully you have the parts book to give them the part numbers of the bolts your looking for. For the Studes in my area most of the bolts in the fender area are different such as bolts going into the A pillar are different from the ones on the inner apron as are different to the ones from the front of the inner apron to the radiator support & so on.

That's good to know, I doubt seriously my car will ever be "judged". Of course I would like it to be judged say at the local parts store or maby the Walmart parking lot!

Had my truck judged at the SDC international '07.... I used whatever bolts in grade8 that were available..... I figured strenght and safety were paramount....
