  • Frame / Springs: 1959-63 Hawk Frame Dimensions

I have an old frame dimension diagram from an old Mitchell manual that shows a diagram for a 1959-61 Hawk. Can anybody tell me if these measurements would be the same on a 1962-63 Hawk?

Should be. The wheel base and track never changed from 53 -64. Thicker material and the bat wing added strength, but the dimensions should be the same. good luck.

If you can scan and post here what you have, I'm sure many of us with later Studebaker books would be glad to look at the dimensions you have and tell you if they are the same in newer books. BP

I think BoB Johnsons site has a frame diagram listed on it.

There is one bracket on each side of the frame on the later GTs that is not on the earlier 50s, otherwise the mounting locations are the same. The GTs also use a longer rear spring and locate the back mounting hole for it further back on the frame.

Wow, My apologies, I haven't been to that page for a while. ... and it doesn't have the 63-64 Hawk. I'll have to get one on there.

No apologies necessary, Bob. Your site is one of the most helpful Stude sites on the web. Thank you for that.
