I bought a new timing gear for my 1952 Champion 6cyl and in taking the old one off, the timing cam got turned some. I was wondering if the crank gear has a mark to match the timing gear up with, or if there is another route I have to take? The new timing gear has a dimple on it, I assume it is to line up with the crank gear?

The crank gear has two dimples in front of two gear teeth, the cam gear, single dimple, goes between the two in the crank. You may be luckey and get the first time or you may have to do it twice. After it is installed turn the engine over on revolution and check that they are in the right place.
