  • Body / Glass: Hood - to cowl rubber seal: Install !

I'm pressing forward with complete weather seal installation on my 62' Lark wagon.....The cowl seal, confirmed by S.I. is very much like the door opening seals.....It is "U" - shaped or "C" - shaped with some contour. How do I install it ? What side goes where ? I don't recall the original.....dry SW car...

It requires 2 Screw Nails 1048X4 one at each end.

Not on '61 and later Lark types. The Drive nails were only used on the cowl weatherstrip that attached directly to the cowl - Larks through 1960, all Hawks, etc. 1961 and later Larks have the cowl seal attached to the back inside of the hood. Weatherstrip adhesive alone will keep it in place.

....thanks so far..... what I need to know is : How do I install it in the hood channel ? I'm guessing that the open groove should "catch" and direct the water from the cowl away to the sides ??? There is a beveled edge and a flat edge.....

Beveled edge faces down, longest part towards the rear of the vehicle.
