I'm trying to fix the oil eaks in the 62 hawk's 289. While cleaning the undercarriage and engine checking for suspected leaks, I came upon this part on the rear right side of the block above the oil pan. It has nothing attached to it. I couldn't find it in any of my manuals. Can anyone advise me what it is?

Looks like a core plug block heater without it's cord.
(That happens when you forget to unplug it and drive off
)
Just replace your core plugs and rod out the crud from the back passages..
