  • Body / Glass: Still trying

Still working on my driver side window on my Lark hardtop, without success...This particular problem is window alignment. There is an obvious gap up top. I have followed all the instructions in the manual, including adjusting the Idler arm. Just cannot raise that side. Also, as You can see from the pic, the glass assembly is lower on left side. Is this contributing to my problem? Any help appreciated

Did you adjust the "Stop" on the Regulator to allow more "UP" ?

A different issue. In the first Photo, it appears that the entire Door may be sagging at the rear, do the Mouldings below the window line up with the 1/4 Window Mouldings ?

Where is that stop located? apparently, this door does not have on or its missing. The door gaps look fine, the chrome strips are a little off; the passenger side door is the same:
Good door gaps but the trim is a little off; Also. the window on the passenger side also has the same problem, gap up top, but not as bad as the driver side. I have not touched that side yet, so that is the way it was when I got the car.

The door glass is right up against the vent window so I'm at a loss as to how I can fix that gap.

Are you able to tilt the top of the vent window forward more. If so, then readjust the window next and then the quarter window last. Otherwise the door may need to be adjusted slightly.

From the looks of the door sag (1/4 inch), I'd say you're in pretty good shape where you stand unless you want to loosen the door hinge screws (again ?) and try to re-adjust the fit. After 60+ years you're asking a lot from the car. I'd be careful on the rear - of - front glass fit to front - of - rear glass.

You may need to look a little closer at the idler track and make sure the nylon roller is good. From there, loosen that in the door (the short idler track) and lift it higher while having someone lift the rear of the glass. Then tighten the track and see where you are.

Thanks to all. Both sides have similar problems, maybe parts just worn out? I've already got the vet window as far forward as far as possible, also adjusted the idler bar upward as far as the slot allows.

Is it possible, or advisable to enlarge the slot on the idler bar and raise it farther upwards?

Yes, you can slot the holes further to gain a little more tilt on the window frame.
