Hi Jerry, I had heard you'd been there - done that with the Villager MC, thanks for showing us the done deed. That brake pedal bolt looks like it could kiss the reservoir line, but it's probably just the angle of the pic. Question: how did you plumb yours? Knowing it was for Villagers with front disc / rear drum PB, I figured it mattered which port was plumbed to front and rear, and bench bleeding the MC confirmed my thoughts. So I plumbed it accordingly, as explained in an earlier post here. I am tickled pink with the results. So now that the 56J install is "in the books", the 62GT is next, but will wait for the current AMC MC to crap out first.

I will post photos here on the current install, once I relearn HTH I did it last time. My attempts only result in a flag saying the "file is too large", or words to that effect.

Joe, select “upload attachments” below your message. After you select the photos, they will be listed below your message. Each file name will be followed by the option to “insert: thumbnail, small, medium, large, fullsize or remove.” You select from those six options for each of your photos. In this case, you will want to choose something smaller than “fullsize”. I hope this helps. ~ Dale

Jerry J20R3 D2 is not compatible with brake fluid. In post 19 above, I mentioned the only two choices I found, but Targon is only heat rated at 130F, vs. EDPM rated at 300F, so I went with EDPM, and found best price on McMaster-Carr. There's other sources on the internet, charging an arm and leg, but likely sourcing it themselves from McMaster-Carr. I bought two feet of 1/2" ID EDPM off eBay for $6.50 per foot, then found McMaster-Car, and bought 10 feet of 3/8" ID EDPM from them for about $30.

I bled the brakes again, with help of my son, then test drove the 56J several miles. The brakes are now at least as good as they've ever been, but maybe a little better due to better front / rear "balance"; the fronts kick in first, quickly followed by the rears, and that is with the restrictor valve to the rears completely shut off. I am now officially done with the 56J's brakes, so its time to move on to other things.
