  • Cool/Heat: 1962 Studebaker Champ

Hello, I recently bought and began working on my grandmother's champ. I have done a decent bit of work on it and was about to drive home from auto class when the radiator burst. I saw on here that an old jeep radiator should fit in it, and was cheaper than rebuilding the original, but I cannot find a hose that will fit from the radiator to the water pump. The hose needs to be 1 3/4 at the radiator outlet, 1 1/2 at the water pump inlet, and 21 1/2 inches long. I only made this post to see if anybody knew of a hose that will fit it.

I dont like those fits all hoses , So what i've in the past is go to my favorite auto store and see whats on the rack , I've always found one thats close. I double up the wire on a clothes hanger to get a shape. Then measure the ends . Sometime the hose I need is in the middle of a hose meaning you may need to 3" off 1 end and 4" off the other. Ed

What engine do you have? My V8 is 1 3/4" at the water manifold and my Jeep radiator is 1 1/2". I used silicone intercooler hose for the bends and SS tubing for the strait parts. You can make any shape or size you need this way. The upper bent hose in this pic is 1 3/4" on top 1 1/2" on the bottom and 45 degree bend. The bottom hose is 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" x 45 degree. (you can get them in several colors as well as black) BTW; the hoses were $3-$5 each when I bought them, way cheaper to do this than anything else I could find at the time. They've gone up some since. I bought another to re-route the upper hose about a month ago and it was $6.84 with tax.

I've owned both a 1962 and a 1964 Champs with V8 engines and never had a problem finding hoses for them. I recommend checking with our Studebaker parts vendors, I'm sure someone has the correct parts.

I didn't even think of using two hoses with an adapter. That should solve my problem. Thanks
