My 63 Lark has a really small tailpipe (1 1/2 inch diameter). Is this the correct size for my engine (289) ? Not sure what engine originally came with my car

On all '59 to '66 Larks and Lark Types the bends and curve down at the end of a stock Tailpipe is slightly "necked down" due to the Bend, but Exhaust Pipes are 2 Inch and Tail Pipes are 1 3/4".
On the end of the tailpipe, it should curve up behind the bumper and back down in a almost half circle and be cut level to the ground creating a oval opening with exhaust flow down and away from the chrome to prevent corrosion and help keep fumes out of the trunk and car.
This also makes the Pipe or pipes almost invisible tucked behind the bumper exactly the same as a '63 Dodge 426 Hemi Ramcharger !StudeRich
