  • Ignition: Wiring 1950 Champion 4 dr L6

I am back to wiring my Champions instrument cluster. i have a 'Blow Up' of the wiring diagramfrom Shop Manual and the "ClassicCarWiring.com" blow up also, but there are no indicators of which side of the amp meter the red wire goes to, or the black/blue wire for the gas gauge top or bottom lug. also on there's a 14ga black wire broken out of the harness with the amp/gas wires, where does this go; the other end is near Volt. Regulator and horn relay the best guide is on page 6 of Shop Manual/'Body Chapter figure 14 showing a photo of the backside of the gauges. i had many useful suggestions before. i did not remove original harness. did anyone take photos or writr a list of wire to location chart
    Thank You

Usually you can read the stamping's on the Insulator Board on the back of the Gauges at each terminal, which will help on Gauges.

Most often the Power from the Solenoid comes in on the Cars Left to the Ammeter and the Load to the Ign. Sw. goes out on the Right.

If you happen to get it backwards the Ammeter will discharge instead of Charge and you will have to reverse them.

You need to buy a shop manual. If you google Studebaker wiring it will take you to Studebakerpaqrts.com site where they have so generously posted the wiring diagrams for most Studebakers.
