  • Exhaust: V8 exhaust flange replacement. Cross reference!

I am getting a new exhaust at a local shop close to me.
Since the exhaust flange is welded to the pipe. Does anyone know what vehicle would be a good replace for my President v8. Including all the gaskets. Should be three.
He has been in business for over 20 years. He was going to check with his supplier.
I told him I would check with this site also.
Even the motor was hot. He was saying early ford v8 one’s look like they might work.
I understand there are a few vendors on this site. But for $450. Including muffler. Can’t hardly go wrong.
I don’t want him tearing into it. Till we find out for sure. Thanks in advance.

Studebaker Vendors have NOS Head Pipes, with the correct angle, why make them?

The Heat Riser valve goes on the right Manifold between the 2 "170" Ford Falcon Gaskets and it is a Cadillac valve so their Flange or the Ford would be the same 2 Inch one, if you insist on having incorrect fitting Head Pipes.

Many long time Muffler Shops still have or had, the Microfiche slides for the Tube Bending Machines that make all the Pipes correctly for each '50's and '60's Model.

Gene: so "your Guy" is familiar with Cars from 2004 to Now?
It would take a Guy in business more like 40 or 50 years to know this stuff.

The exhaust shop that did mine had cards with all of the specs, (lengths, degree bend, and how far to rotate). The pipes all fit perfect. His cards went back into the 1920's.

Exactly ! Every Bend angle and clocking was copied from the OEM Original, for aftermarket muffler shop pipes.

The Kia/Hyundai 2.7 V6 Circa 2001 to 2004 gaskets and flanges have been useful to me. Good fit. Available any ware.

That's ODD that Metric Parts would perfectly fit US sized Manifolds and Pipes.

      Thank you for your concern.

Did I say he did Not have the micro film?

      NO.
      I asked a simple question.
As for as buying from a venders. Really buy the parts, pay for shipping. Then ask a guy that does it every day to install. Wow!

I brought the car home because I had to fix a gas leak.
When I went back up there.
He had the flanges and stuff there.
In other words he know his shxx.
That pipe bending machine ain’t there for looks.
As for as getting the flanges correct to pipe angle it don’t take a rocket scientist. You bolt the flange on the manifold.
Then you bend the pipe to the diagram.-book. Slide the pipe in the flange and tack it. Take it out then weld it.
      Have a nice day!!!!!!!

The heat riser from a '67 Cad may work for you.

OOPS! I misunderstood the part needed. I've parted cars that had a flange cutoff welded to an expanded 2" pipe where it dropped in and was welded!
