  • Engine: V-8 Piston Usage

In a follow-up to a previous question I posted, I have a set of NOS pistons, part number, 1553164. The parts book lists these as used in 1960 to 1962 - 289" engines. My question is, can they be used in other year 289" engines from 1956 to 1964?

They would not be "Correct" per the OEM Original build, but as long as the Correct 536243 PINS are used in them, they should be fine, and even THAT may have a "work around".

Just as Jack V. said in your prior String, "Balance them" to the Crankshaft.
