  • Frame / Springs: Photo request: Early V8 Lark with Moog front coil springs

Anyone have an early V8 Lark with the replacement Moog front coil springs? I’d like to get an idea of what the ride height looks like.. Thanks.

Thanks, James. Doesn’t look bad at all.

I put a set in a ‘63 Lark 6 and I thought it made the car sit a little too high. I have a set ready to go in a ‘61 Lark V8 and was concerned that I’d have the same problem.

I have the same question re these springs. As far as I know there are three MOOG springs, each a different stiffness (thus resulting in a different ride height). I don't know if all are still available, though. If someone could "grade" them in terms of stiffness that might help:
      CC651,
      CC653,
      CC 655

I've installed 4 sets of the CC655 sets with excellent ride height and with no changes to rear springs. Cars were: (2)63' Cruisers, 62' wagon and 62' Lark 4dr. I can confirm a perfect rocker panel horizontal views. The profile will vary depending upon load and gas tank volume.

Cool, I'll go for it then. This weekend's project is new control arm bushings and coil springs. Getting excited to have this car on the road.

            CC651, Weaker yet
            CC653, Weak, Non-Variable
            CC 655 Firm and Variable

However NONE are still available, you have to use Precision Brand SP08055.
It is supposed to be a replacement for Moog CC855 Cargo Spring
for a '87 LeSabre also a Variable Rate. Available at O'Reilley Auto Parts probably others like; Carquest or Advance Auto/Auto Zone.
