Engine: Engine number location (diesel)

Tried ordering parts for my 63 E-45 Detroit Diesel but the engine number that is on the production order is not what they need. I was told it's on the driver's side but unable to find it so far.

Taking my time on it and have 3 of the 4 injectors working freely so far. I heard there is an adapter for a spin on oil filter to take the place of the cartridge type it has now, just need that information to get it. About ready to drop the right fuel tank then do the left & clean them out good. Then I should be ready in attempting to start it!

The engine number is on the passenger side rear of the block. If your valve cover still has the option plate it will be on the valve cover on the passenger side also. If your truck still has the original block in it, the model number will be 5047-7248

The last time I replaced the injectors I jump from 45 to 50. Made a big difference on running.

All the injectors are now free & the rack operates smoothly. I connected a battery friday & tried the starter for the first time & it cranks over ! Going into town this morning for some diesel & will see if it fires off. It wont make it to the Martin Museum on the 22nd but if all continues to go well it might be able to run in & out of the shop.
