1966 Daytona 283:
I'm needing to remove the AC compressor and send it away for service.
AC was installed when the car was new by the dealer - a Studebaker factory supplied unit - installed exactly like the chassis and body parts book shows.
I want to run the car while the compressor is out.
So, I'm looking for a way to mount the alternator to the engine while the compressor is out. I'm not seeing a detail of the alternator mounting without AC in the above manual. Car has PS.
Was the non-AC alternator mount a standard GM mount when engines were purchased in 65/66?
Is there an aftermarket SBC right-hand alternator mount that would work here, with the stock Studebaker alternator, and stock AC crank pulley, or is there a Studebaker part for a non-AC alternator mount? I could have missed it in the manual.
Thanks!
