Can anyone tell me the length of pushrods used in the V8 vs. the OHV six? Are they the same or different? I have a bunch of pushrods laying around and I need to pick out the ones for the OHV six cause I'm having that engine rebuilt-- thanks

There are THREE different Length of V8 Pushrods [ (1) 232 + (2) for 224, 259 & 289 ] and the OHV Six, makes FOUR, all different by year!
The exact lengths have been mentioned here many times, try a Search.StudeRich

IIRC, the V8 pushrod length was lengthened so the same could be used in both the V8 and the OHV6.
1951-61 pushrod 11-3/16” 11.171875" to 11.21875"
late 1961' -'64 11-11/32” or 11.328125-11.375"
That's as I remember it. Your results may vary

Rocker arms, adjusting screws, and rocker shafts were all changed at that same time per the 61V engine numbers above.
It is true that the “after” 61V and the OHV six Cylinder did use the same rocker arm, 1554013.Last edited by Studebakercenteroforegon; 11-04-2017, 09:17 PM.

Late V-8 pushrods, used on and after 61V-259” V-511,761 and 61V-289”. P-74,841 are 11-21/64” to 11-3/8”
In my big pile of push rods 12 of them look to be the in the 11-19/32” to 11-41/64” range- so I think those are the ones. I gathered all the parts for this engine about six years ago- I should have been more careful keeping the parts separate from my other accumulated parts.
