The picture does not resemble a V8, however I have two 63 259s and they are both different, one has the PVC tube attachment bolted into the same hole as the draft tube with a rubber hose attached and the check valve in line with the other end into the base of the carb.
The other 63 has the draft tube covered with a plate and the crankcase outlet is welded to the valve cover with a threaded attachment to receive the PCV unit. The PC valve threads into the assembly and stands up vertically also with the hose returns to the base of the carb.
These are both standard systems. If you order a PC valve make sure it for the correct application vertical or horizontal. David

The '63 V8 Engines are exactly like the Parts Catalog Photo shown here, the PCV Valve has 3/8" hose nipples on both ends and goes to the Carb. Base as it shows.
The Valley Covers with the Threaded fitting welded in, are from a 1964 Model, they take a Threaded PCV Valve and have the 3/8" Hose on the outgoing side and MUST Flow TO that end to go to the Carb. as most aftermarket Valves for other makes do NOT.
If you click the Picture THREE Times you will be able to SEE that it IS a correct '63 PCV Setup in the lower V8 Pic.
altair: if the Engine in your '63 with the Threaded PCV Fitting in the Valley Cover has a Date Coded Engine Serial Number, it is from a '64 or it could have a '64 Valley Cover on a '63 Block.Last edited by StudeRich; 10-29-2016, 10:48 PM.StudeRich

345 DeSoto: the last I checked the PCV Hose Adapter Fitting for the Valley Cover draft tube hole was NLA, but used, can be found at swap meets, some Forum Member's stashes etc.
If you are very creative with a Torch, you could make one from a Draft Tube.Last edited by StudeRich; 10-30-2016, 11:23 PM.StudeRich
