SWvalcon - Nice clean job looking very good..... You are my inspiration.... I have 4 cars I want to restore... Spent 12 yrs in Autobody early in life. Just turned 67 and retired in Jan this year. My hope is to be able to work on my cars for the next 10 - 12 yrs and enjoy the fun.

Keep rockin it .... you are one of my role models.

Just stay at it. As Gene Windfield always said you stop you die. He made it to 98 before the cancer got him. Hope I do as well. I know I feel better if I'm out in the shop over sitting doing nothing.

Yeah my job was getting pretty stressful and I think I was in fight or flight mode all the time. Was tired all the time..... adrenaline crash I think. Now days I feel much better physically and mentally..... And enjoying my days. I agree with you and Windfield. I plan on doing what I do until the day I die..... I may not do it as fast as I did in my 30's but I am in good enough health that I can keep doing it..... albeit slower

Almost ready to install the motor. Few wires to hook up on drivers side and run the brake lines for the new master cylinder. Also got the rear wheels cleaned up and painted. Yes I know they should be white but I like black and they will only be on until I can find a nice used set of magnu Click image for larger version

Slowly coming back together. Would have had the underside all buttoned up today but the last guy to work on it found a way to break the starter. It worked this way but think I will rob the nose piece off the only other Auto starter I have until I can find another one. Starter isn't a R-2 starter or I would just swap them. Hope to have the motor all done by some time next week so I can make some noise and then bleed off the new brake system and see if that works and it can move under it's own power for the first time in over 32 years

robbed the part needed of extra starter and a guy I know says he has 7 used one in his shed and can maybe spare one so that take care of that problem. Got the starter fixed and on the car along with left exhuast pipe hooked up so pretty much everything under the car is hooked back up. Now to just finish off the top side, service the supercharger and decide what to do with the fuel pump. Either need to do what john myers told me or go electric with a pressure valve, Got the electric fan so will hook that up and wire the control box. It comes on at a set temp and shuts off at a preset temp. So will work like the new cars where when you shut off car it will cool it down and then turn it's self off. Congratulations on the excellent progress on the Avanti! I am so tired of the guys who whine about the effort and dollars needed to salvage these marvelous automobiles.
Too many are falling by the wayside.
I'm the guy you hauled the white Avanti out to Arizona from Minnesota for. I still appreciate that.
Many projects still out here awaiting the magic touch. Can't imagine there's very many salvageable cars back there.
              Keep up the good work!

Glad to hear from you. We picked up the two hawk bodys and made it home with no problems. Hope you are enjoying your Avanti. Bought this car and needed it like I needed a hole in the head but price I felt was to good to pass up for what looked Iike a clean rust free west coast car. Other than the damage from 32 years of sitting it is even more solid then I thought and should be in it right even with all the work I'm doing and parts it needs to bring it back to new.
