This is just amazing. I decided to look up "Ely Stokes" on google and this came up. Ely Stokes is the business name on my car and on their website they have a photo of what appears to be my car from back in the '70s.

Maybe they would foot the bill for restoration back to what it looked like when they had it , as long as you'd let them use it for their promo from time to time !sigpic

Check the Stove Huggers thread "Stalnaker Diner". You've inspired me to try to track down more pictures or information of a company truck that interests me. I had to post it there because its a Ford truck.Jon Stalnaker

So far I haven't heard back from them. Both of my doors still clearly say Ely Stokes, but much of "Master Chimney Sweep, Indinapolis Indiana" is worn off, but still readable. When I get deeper into restoring Ely I wanted to put "Ely Stokes Master Chimney Sweep, Indianapolis Indiana" and the phone number back on it just like it was back then, and I don't have a problem with them using it in a promo. I think that would be cool! If they don't respond to my email, I'll call them next week. I also sent them two photos of Ely just so they know this isn't some kind of joke. I looked a little closer at the photo on their website and on the cowl, you can barely see it, but there's a radio antenna. It's NOT correct for the car, Ely still has the antenna, so I know the car in the photo is Ely.Chris Dresbach
