  • This is the pits at the 1961 Armstrong 500 at Bathurst in Australia.



    The Lark placed first in its class. Maybe some of our Studebaker brethren from Australia can add some details here.

    • David McKay & Brian Foley were the winning drivers in that blue Lark. The other Lark entered came 3rd in class.

          But the Renault Gordini's did run 1st & 2nd in their class - wow!!

          • Some, & probably these ones, Renaults in these days had Gordini Hemi heads & two dual Webers & hot cams & at least 110 hp, sum that up with weight...

                            • #7093, there's something goin' on 'bout this one right now; it seems to have been "found" again.
                              The registration plate is from before -73 & the letters tells that it's a "Stockholm city" car, so maby soon enough the history of it will be told, at least in Sweden...
