I wonder if that Willy/Jeep FC version was the USPS van that was in use immediately before Studebaker won the contract for the next generation Zip Van. It appears to be quite a bit smaller in size than the Zip Van.

The upper photo, of course, is a load of Studebaker ZIP vans heading out of South Bend.
