    • Okay... this one's provisional because I'm not great with prewar models... so... is that a '34 St. Regis Brougham in the lower left corner? I'll delete if not. Thanks! Click image for larger version

Thinking maybe 32 or 33? - 34 had round headlights. Wish there was a really high resolution copy of this - there could be several more - car turning into the parking lot looks a lot like a '35.

The 33's had a more pronounced slant at the top than the 32's. In any event it appears this was a popular place to shop. I wonder if they are still in business in Los Angeles?

    • In 12077, there could be several '30's and 40's Studes. in there, but from a distance they ALL look the same !

Which, not to put too fine a point on it, why I VERY SPECIFICALLY ASKED ABOUT ONE PARTICULAR CAR CLEARLY VISIBLE IN THE LOWER LEFT HAND CORNER.

          • Re 12077: Thanks to those who helped me ID the car in question as a '32. Sorry I lost my cool - had just had one too many snarky comebacks in a single day, here and in real life.

              • It looks like a 1932 Dictator and a 1937 Dictator. Would the plural of Dictator be Dictai?

                  • Some pictures my grandfather took during his college years in Chicago in 1956/57.

                    1. A public parking somwhere in the Loop district. I spot a 1954 Starliner to the left, a 1950 bullet nose to the right and something that appears to be a 1953 oder '54 Sedan in the upper left corner

                    2. Described by grandpa as "Lakeshore Drive during afternoon rush-hour". There's another 1950 bullet nose to the far right, partially covered by a 1956 Ford.

                    3. Unidentified intersection in the city center. My favourite picture for an obvious reason: a 1953 Starliner (trunk lock) with 1954 front bumper guards and 1956 wheel covers.

In 1964, California Proposition 15 supported making it illegal, with certain specific exceptions, to charge for television programming within the state. It passed with a two-thirds majority of votes cast but was struck down as unconstitutional by the state supreme court two years later.
