  • At least a two-fer. I was thinking maybe the black convertible to the left of the '56 Studebaker sedan might be a Lark, but I think not "upon further review" ...perhaps it is a '63 Falcon convertible or I dunno. Thoughts?

    • Squinting my eyes as hard as possible, to me it looks like a 55-56 Ford or Mercury. The tale is in the taillights. It also looks like a state line stop crossing from California or Arizona into Nevada.

Advertising Air Conditioning on the side of the hotel seems to indicate mid fifties living.

        • I’m glad I found a Studebaker in here so I could share this wonderful picture. Hard not to be distracted by that beautiful 59 Oldsmobile shining like a jewel right in the middle of the picture. This is what I think parking lots will look like in Heaven.

Bob, I counted right at 60 cars in that photo...and among them are not one, but two 1958 Edsels! You're hoping parking lots in heaven will be almost 2% 1958 Edsels? BP

Yessir, that would be just fine with me. Remember, this is just ONE parking lot

Don't be so critical of Bob as it a great post the likes of which we'll never see again. Imagine 60 of today's cars with most having the same roof lines.

            • Also; how often do you see two -60 Fords in the same photo? But I think those Oldsmobiles look like as if they have headaches, so I prefer it like this: (sorry Bob)

Bob knows I'm just kidding him, Bill. I could sure do with several 1957 and 1959 Fords in Heaven, along with that that early Lark hardtop. It looks suspiciously like my Tahiti Coral '59 hardtop with Power Kit 259 in the summer of '67, on my way to work at Carl West Shell Service in Indianapolis:

                  • The picture in post 11836 is Wendover on the Nevada Utah border. It’s on I80 now would have been US 40 back then. The cowboy is still there but has been moved west to the edge of town.

That looks like my '59 Tahiti Coral/white Hardtop V8 Auto.

                          • I love these vintage parking lot photos. I love looking at all the cars. I had to look carefully but I did see one Studebaker, maybe two.
