      • Bob Palma- Thanks for posting these great dealer photos! My Grandma bought a ‘52 Champion new in Tacoma, Wa, and whenever I see dealer shots from that era I think of her shopping for a replacement of her ‘47 Champion!

        • Post # 11714 Kenneth Chev. was in my Home Town of Hawthorne, Calif. Home of: the Beach Boys, Chris Montez and Northrop Aircraft, Mfg. of the P-61 Black Widow 1 St. Night Fighter, F-89 Scorpion, T-38 Trainer. F5 A, B, E, and F Fighters, B2 "Spirit" Stealth Bomber, F18 Hornet and Super Hornet designer, and builder of the Aft. Portion.

The current Photo is now the Hawthorne Mall on Hawthorne Blvd. ("THE STRIP") as us '60's Street Racers and "Cruisers" knew it.

And there IS Studebaker content, a Lark out front.

          • From the Sunday, November 14 Old Motor. Is this a two-fer? Is that a Hawk about to enter the intersection from the far side, almost obscured by the Metro Van?

            • A second view of the same intersection. The Metro Van appears to have turned, so was the '54 now seen closer to the camera what I thought was a Hawk in the previous post?

                • The fender skirts on the '51 in picture #11720 are really interesting. Looks like they are stainless to match the gravel shields. Does anybody have any other pictures showing that kind of skirts.

                    • The Studebaker could be and likely is the "maggot". I raced in those days and the maggot was the one and only 52 Stud that I remember. He was a consistent winner and ran in a stock class. The falcon wagon was not in a stock class, but photo could have been taken during time trials. The "maggot" has been discussed here at length, try the search function.

Thanks Bob ! A couple of guys over on f-book sent replies and stories about it too ! Lucky I love nearly all cars, as some of the "special to one brand" sites often have some great shots showing other stuff in the background that I spot while looking. Thanks again sir !
