  • Given the incredibly young age of that car it’s probably just a dusty Comanche Red wheel, no?

    • My 52 Commander was Tahoe Green with yellow wheels! IIRC there was a photo years ago in Turning Wheels that showed many models with different from body color wheels. So it probably was a Comanche Red Wheel

Ah, a good point and a distinct possibility. BP

Great photos. I always see the cars first, but then I take a minute or two to enjoy every detail, free of any negative aspects of the time.
One thing I've noticed in these old photos is the generally dark strip down the middle of each lane that isn't as often seen today. Cars and trucks simply leaked more oil back then...and not just Studebakers! BP

            • I see two...and an overheating Kaiser.
Looking east on 7th St. between Market and Mission, San Francisco.
Oddfellows and "Pioneer" buildings are still in use.

                    • Three Studes, three (four?) DeSotos, and a Packard -- gotta be a record. Is that a Checker cab at back right?

And a Reo truck immediately in front?

I think so, Skip; the style immediately before the ones we're so used to seeing.

I'm counting only two Studebakers, though; where's the third? BP

                            • At least one Kaiser/Frazer, front left. I only see 2 Studes and I see 2 Packards.

                              • Agree -- only two Studes. Mistook that K-F at front left for a Stude. (The danger of trying to look at detailed pix on a small screen.)
