The left car is a Mercedes Benz, possibly a 180D, the right car is a German Ford Taunus 12M.

Just noticed the name on the building in this picture. Here is another picture taken looking down that street. Note the 'Winston Motor Mart' arrow-shaped sign, same as the sign in the left of your pic. Location is Winston-Salem NC:

                    • No internet yesterday... but today.

About #1126: I've heard a story long ago 'bout "trying to get some U.S. caravans sold in Europe" = a raid through Europe (but I think it failed 'cause I can't remember seeing even one of these anywhere here) & I heard they left them here 'cause it wasn't worth shipping them back.
Kinda makes one wonder where they went...

That Mercedes-model was the 1:st Mercedes I had & it made me drive careful 'cause it was DANGEROUS in snow & ice ! ! !
I traded it for a -67 Chevy suburban, & that was a good move.

(The Ford Taunus rusted away already at the dealer, like Opel & the both brands shared absolutely NO roadholding & just as much brakes)

                      • In this month's Smithsonian Magazine article about the Moulin Rouge casino.

I can only reference a photograph. In the documentary, 'The man nobody knew' about William Colby, towards the end of the film, there is a snapshot of Colby with a white Lark's front end in the left background. 59-61 style front end.
