From that angle those wagons don't look bad. It's the side profile that makes them look so odd.

I think it's the rear side windows lower part that makes them "odd", at least that's how I see them. (I still wouldn't mind one thou...)

That blue ‘67 beetle and its very desirable cabriolet neighbor are hugely popular in the air-cooled VW circuit!

1967 was the year of huge change: last year of the ornate bumpers, first year of 12 volts, first year of upright headlamps and flat hubcaps, last year of 5-lug drop center wheels and the ONLY year for the disastrous over-the-transaxle Eberspächer heater....

I can't imagine how happy you were or proud to have a dad that labored so long to create a toy for you. I like the fact that it has a few scrapes to give it the authenticity of a real bus.
