These people look like they were in a hurry to get to Key West - bet it was late on a Friday afternoon... Caption for photo states it was taken in March of 1951.

1956/62 CA license plates were yellow with black letters, so was this pic taken in Los Angeles?

Congested traffic, blocks of tall buildings, license plates appear to be black with yellow or white letters....

Looks more like New York City than Los Angeles.

1963/68 CA license plates were black with yellow letters, so maybe it is Los Angeles and the pic was taken in 1963 or later.

That may be his wife, she was short with black hair.

The license plate on the Chrysler appears to be New York. Lark taxicabs were extremely common in NYC in 1959-60.
