The two tone 56 backed into the water brought back some memories of a two tone 56 (nicknamed "Bell Ringer") my dad had when I was in grade school. It usually was parked in a lean-to garage built on the uphill side to to the old original 1 car garage, resulting in having a below grade foundation and floor (affectionately called the Dug-out garage). Wintertime could prove a little tricky to get the car out and up the concrete ramp if there was ice on the concrete. One such day, Dad gunned the car backing it out and flying across the gravel drive hitting a pole with an old cast dinner bell at the top of it. The impact broke the cradle for the bell and the bell get rung by the top of the 56, also cracking the bell in the action. I can still remember that white with coral accent color 2 door wagon with the rubber floor matting and slider rear windows. Dad took a pretty good ribbing about the bell ringing for some time after that.sigpic[SIGPIC]
