I think #9900 may have started out as a color photograph but it looks like someone has massaged it a little bit. Possibly someone at the postcard company that produced it. The sky doesn't look real and the reds seem to pop just a little too much.

I've seen this pic before...somewhere. This was originally a Willys dealer, notice the service sign on the far left in the pic.Originally posted by wlfrench View PostI think #9900 may have started out as a color photograph but it looks like someone has massaged it a little bit. I don't know, Craig; it does look like it to me.Originally posted by 8E45E View PostWhat's that Eldorado Brougham doing in there??? Craig
Some of the comments in the Hemmings blog entry suggest that is a diorama made up of various high-end model cars.
I could believe that.
What do you guys think?

There's a 1958 Packard Hawk on the far right side of the pic.
Besides the Eldo, there's also a 1935 Ford Roadster, 1941 Cadillac 60 Special, 1946/48 Chrysler Town & Country convertible and other collector cars in this pic.

Yes, a diorama. Very well done, but still a diorama. Giveaway clue is always the windshield trim and side window bright-work trim.KURTRUK

Right, Kurt, the closer you look the more you realize it's a diorama, albeit one of the best I've ever seen. Check out the 1959 Pontiac top center, pointing toward us. The front grille surrounds just don't look right, for example.

Now that we've established that it is a diorama...all we need is a "time lapse" progression of the scene. As the original "collector" passes on, where the next move is a crusher, then the bulldozing, as the place becomes a shopping center, then falls into disrepair, urban blight, and finally, fenced in & closed by the government (with grant money) to protect the rare one tooth moon mouse...so rare that no one has ever seen one!Originally posted by BobPalma View Post
