    • The picture in 9546 reminds me of the scene in "Bonnie and Clyde" where they come up on a family picnic after they have been shot pretty badly.

Same thing I thought. The guy looks like he is reaching for a gun.

I recall seeing that very car parked at the Studebaker dealer (Gordon Bros I believe) in North Vancouver at the end of the race to promote Studebakers(even though production had stopped). 1967 was the year I bought my '63 GT Hawk from Gordon Brothers in North Vancouver. If I recall, there were several Shell 4000 rallies in the 60's and there were also Larks participating and placing very high as well.

            • 9552 -- This reminds me of the Studebaker M series well-driller which is high in the air beside Highway 9 in Alexander, Maine.

              • Found this on the 'net today.
It's at the old " Pure Oil Performance Trials " that were held here at Daytona Beach for many years .
I worked at a couple of those events , back then . I wasn't there in this year though . That's Big Bill .

                  • From an Alabama Poly Tech Yearbook. Cruse-Crawford was not only a Birmingham dealer, but apparently a distributor also. Not sure why 'Manufacturing' in the company name.

The dealer may have operated a fab shop that could have welded anything from small utility trailers to pipe racks for trucks to farm implements which carried them over when car sales end got slow.

This is another puzzlement I do not see the red X. Also it comes from the very same source as the photos I last posted and I was told they came through great.
