From the grill on the car second in line I believe this is a Studebaker. It looks like those I have seen in Indy pictures.

Great picture of the Theme Resturant at LAX; The Theme Building is an iconic landmark structure at the Los Angeles International Airport within the Westchester neighborhood of the city of Los Angeles. It was dedicated on June 25, 1961, by the then US Vice-President Lyndon B. Johnson, and it is an example of the Mid-Century modern influenced design school known as "Googie" or "Populuxe." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theme_Building

While the building still stands today, due to renovations around it to improve LAX's ability to serve it's clients, the surrounding area does not look like that at all.

Yes, believe that is Louis Tomei in car 53, with the 1932 Studebaker body and the big 336 c.i straight eight. He finished 10th that year.

Yes, it's the 1937 race. Car #53 in 1937 is the same car that ran as #22 in 1932. Later, it was owned by Virgil Exner Sr. and used as a personal sports car for many years, then re-acquired by Studebaker in 1952. It is currently in the Indy 500 Museum having been restored at the Studebaker factory by Ed Reynolds, Sr. for the 1962 race events as #22. It was later sold/given to Andy Granatelli. The car is in the basement of the museum, makes rare appearances, and is not allowed outside the museum, possibly because of some questions about who actually owns the car now.

Snoqualmie Pass, WA. Old Highway 10 in the foreground. I-90 now passes behind the buildings, of which the right hand structure still survives. The snow piles resemble this year's accumulations. As a side note (3/7/17) Snoqualmie pass is closed again this afternoon/evening due to multiple spin outs and accidents. Winter........bah
